Six people have officially won the top prize since ITV’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? was first broadcast in 1998, with teacher Donald Fear becoming the latest in September this year (see panel, right). But what does it take to go all the way?

Five winners look back on their time in the hot seat in the six-part series Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: The Million Pound Question, which features hosts Chris Tarrant and Jeremy Clarkson, and revisits the ‘coughing major’ scandal involving Charles Ingram.
