Based on real events, the one-off drama stars Adam Driver as idealistic Daniel Jones, who is tasked by his boss Senator Dianne Feinstein, played by Annette Bening, to investigate the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Programme, which was set up following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
When a newspaper claims that the CIA destroyed tapes of its brutal interrogations of al-Qaeda detainees, Feinstein asks her research assistant Jones to find out the truth.
