Michael Bay is famous for directing big-budget, action-packed, explosion-filled movies, so viewers won’t be disappointed with his latest high-octane offering, 6 Underground, which begins streaming on Netflix from Friday.

The director, who made Armageddon with Bruce Willis and Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck, once again casts a big Hollywood name in the lead role – Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.

The Vancouver-born actor plays the super-rich, enigmatic ‘One’, who brings together five other billionaires to form a vigilante squad to take down notorious criminals.

They have all faked their own deaths and are driven by a desire to erase their pasts and change the future. Each also possesses a unique skill necessary for the missions to be carried out successfully.

EXPLOSIONS AND JOKES

The thriller is one of Netflix’s most expensive movies to date, costing a reported $150 million, and co-stars Bohemian Rhapsody’s Ben Hardy, 24: Legacy’s Corey Hawkins and Operation Finale’s Mélanie Laurent.

It was partly filmed on location in Florence, where Bay managed to get the authorities to allow him to shoot a thrilling car chase around the city’s historic landmarks and a jaw-dropping parkour scene on top of the medieval cathedral.
