FIENDS REUNITED

NEW COMEDY HORROR

Truth Seekers

From Friday 30 October, eight episodes (released as a box set), Amazon Prime Video

Simon Pegg was a struggling stand-up when he first met Nick Frost in 1993 at his local Mexican restaurant where Frost was working as a waiter. The pair quickly discovered a shared love of curry, comedy and Star Wars, and began sharing a flat together. The rest, as they say, is history…

More than 25 years on, the pair’s friendship has produced some of Britain’s funniest films and TV shows (see panel, right). Now, the duo are reunited on screen for the first time in seven years when they star in Amazon Prime Video’s comedy horror Truth Seekers.

GHOST HUNTING

Described as a cross between The X-Files and Shaun of the Dead, the series centres on Gus (Frost), an internet-installation engineer who uses his dull job as a cover for his true passion of hunting ghosts and demons, and posting his findings online.

Gus lives with his eccentric father Richard (A Clockwork Orange star Malcolm McDowell) and seems to be going nowhere until his boss Dave (Pegg) assigns him a new assistant – happy-go-lucky tech enthusiast Elton (Sliced’s Samson Kayo).

The pair strike up an instant friendship, but when they begin staking out haunted churches and abandoned hospitals with homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, they uncover a sinister conspiracy that could wreak Armageddon on the human race.

We caught up with Pegg and Frost to hear more about their paranormal adventures…

What’s it been like working together again?
