Come Forward and Be the Responsible Citizen

Could you share your childhood days and education details with our readers?

I was born on 26th Sept, 1982 In Tamilnadu. I completed my schooling from Tanjavur. I went to study Agriculture for my graduation. Then I applied for UPSC and got selected for IAS in 2008 batch.

Why you chose to become an IAS?

I am from very conservative, middle class family where I have brought up with traditional values and disciplines. We used to look up at officers who were doing great things for society and we used to get inspired by their act. While doing my graduation I used to see many of my seniors preparing for UPSC exams. From them I got much information about Civil Services and then came to a conclusion that this is the best service we can do for our society and nation. So I became more serious about it and started preparing for it.

Please elaborate your achievements throughout your career so far.

After joining Indian Administrative Service in 2008, I completed my training at Ahmednagar. Next I was Sub-Divisional Officer of Ahmednagar and Nandurbar districts and Chief Executive Officer in Jalana district of Marathwada. It was very fantastic tenure because there were many challenges to face. In rural development there we got many opportunities to serve the poor peoples. We initiated many schemes for their progress. We tacked every issue of locals. Lastly I was Collector of Ratnagari district in coastal Maharashtra before being transferred here as Collector of Nashik.

People of nashik are unhappy with district administration for harassing them in alleging negligence in preparing electoral roll for the graduates’ constituency, what you say about it?
