LOCATION VIBES

Found the perfect destination? Take into consideration the geographical factors of the area. What is the landscape like? What outdoor activities will you be indulging in? Is the weather dry or humid? These factors will help you identify products that are absolutely necessary as your skin and hair will react to different climatic conditions differently.

Dr Aneesh Sheth, founder of skincare brand, Dr. Sheth’s, provides guidelines to help figure out your travel beauty must-haves.

Whether you’re travelling to a tropical island, bustling city, snow-capped mountains, or taking a safari, each is as diverse from the other, and hence your beauty kit will differ basis where you are headed.

Understand your skin concerns (for instance acne or pigmentation) and how they respond to certain climates. Understand which products will work well to treat these problems, and then put together a basic travel kit.

BACKPACKING BEAUTY

Multifunctional products and essential tips that will help you travel light and slay the beauty game.

CLEANSER

Pack a gentle face wash that has nourishing oils in its ingredient list. Opt for a shower gel rather than soap. In case you are vacationing at a place that has hard running water, this switch will be a life-saver.

Dr Sheth says, “Look for cleansers that have deep cleansing agents like coconut oil or almond oil, and nourishing ingredients like rosehip seed extracts, and vitamin E.”

MOISTURISER

A deep moisturising cream is ideal if you are in an extremely cold place, whereas a gel-based moisturiser works well for tropical climates. Always have a lip balm with SPF in your bag, whether you are on a holiday or not.
