It’s been 62 years since Mr. Hiroo L. Khushalani first stepped foot in the oil and gas industry, and 30 years since he started his own manufacturing set up for downhole completion equipment in Gurugram. A veteran in hands-on field and technology experience and state-of-the-art oilfield equipment, he has now passed on the reigns of his company, Botil Oil Tools India, to his able daughter, Raksha Khushalani.
Raksha’s life graph is particularly interesting, more so because she’s been one of those women who has actively followed only her passion. And it’s safe to say that her passion never really involved working in the oil and gas industry! But at 41 years of age, Raksha joined Botil as Managing Director and within six years, has led the company to great heights.
Botil Oil Tools is India’s leading manufacturer of downhole completion equipment, which is primarily oilfield machines used in oil wells during drilling to optimise production and flow. And to run a manufacturing setup for such equipment is even more complicated than it sounds. With the guidance of her father and her academic foundation in economics, Raksha sits at the top of the pyramid, overseeing operations and working on costing, modern growth strategies, technical upgradation and intricate background systems that enable the smooth running of the 4 lakh+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Gurugram and the 45,000 sq. ft. service centre in Algeria.
