What does a regular 16year-old girl do? Well, an image of a happy-go-lucky youngster living life to the fullest is what comes to mind instantly. However, Aishwarya Bhende (her mum Manju Chellaramani lends her the Sindhi roots!) set up her first company ‘Amnesia’ at that very age.
She discovered both her love for business studies and her phobia of numbers while attending the Bombay International School. “Mathematics was my biggest weakness and I was exempted from it in grade 8. I never imagined I’d take up something as challenging as business, accountancy, or anything related to math ever again,” she shares candidly.
For someone who loved fashion and music growing up, Aishwarya graduated from Jai Hind College with a degree in Commerce instead. “I realised I could still pursue fashion and music by being passionate about them, but wanted a stable career in the business world/hotel industry which eventually led me to setting up AB Celestial. Under Amnesia, we started hosting events at 5-star properties in the city.”
