You will be delighted to read that this month’s column is an election free zone! You may be a tad disappointed however if I tell you that it certainly won’t be a Christmas-free one. Indeed the shouts of ‘Oh no it isn’t, oh yes it is’ across the newsroom at BBC Surrey have been all too noticeable for the past few months. It’s all because a couple of my colleagues will be dressing up and stepping out into the limelight. Our lunchtime presenter Allison Ferns, who was in Leatherhead last year, takes a spin down the M23 to play the role of Delores the Mermaid in Peter Pan at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton.
