There is a quotation from the Russian dramatist Anton Chekhov which states: “Any idiot can face a crisis; it’s the day to day living that wears you out”. Mr Chekhov died in 1904, aged only 44, but I am not sure that he is correct.

I am not political, I do not understand politics, I have no respect for the vast majority of modern politicians and I am currently bored by most things political. Over a year ago, in this article, I was asking for political clarity and direction from our supposed Westminster leaders.

Whether an “inner” or an “outer”, I wrote that I no longer cared about our future relationship with Europe, but just wanted our intrepid leaders to engage a forward gear for UK plc so that I, and everyone else, could earn a living, pay the mortgage and shoe the children.
