KARDASHIANS CANCELLED END OF AN ERA
On September 8, the first family of popular culture announced that after 14 years on air, they’re pulling the pin on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“We are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children,” Kim Kardashian wrote after breaking the news on social media. “This show made us who we are, and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”

Since 2007, the fly-on-the-mansion-wall series (and 12 spin-off shows that followed) has chronicled the colourful personal and professional lives of the large Calabasas clan, catapulting its members into global super-stardom. The show will end after its 20th season, set to air in early 2021.

“The number 20 just seemed like the right time I think for us to take a minute and breathe, and everybody slow down a bit … figure out what our next steps are,” the family’s matriarch and mumager Kris Jenner said in a radio interview with the show’s executive producer, Ryan Seacrest.

Falling ratings, the impact of COVID-19 and failed multimillion-dollar contract negotiations have all reportedly contributed to the decision. But with or without cameras rolling, real-life drama for the family is not in short supply.
