Wrapping up a whirlwind week of final official engagements, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left behind their lives as senior royals with mixed feelings. “It’s bittersweet,” a source tells WHO. “It’s been sad for them because they tried. It’s not been an easy few months for anybody.”

Their final appearance at the Commonwealth Day service alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton was noticeably strained. Afterwards, the couples departed without interacting – their final public goodbye for the foreseeable future – with the Sussexes flying back to their 10-month-old son Archie in Canada.
