How did you get onto the music scene?
The way that I got into the music business was pretty cool. I have always sung and wrote songs. An opportunity presented itself that allowed me to write for John Legend, Keyshia Cole and K. Michelle, and from there I was able to build my career as a songwriter and that helped open doors for me to be the artist that I am today.
You are very conversational in your writing style. Is that intentional?
That is who I am as a person, how I speak and act. I want to engage and evoke a conversation with the listener.
