Life has been anything but sunshine and roses for Mariaan (Deirdre Wolhuter) after she was found guilty in September last year for the manslaughter of her employee-lover Ben (Louis Auret). For months she was behind bars, left to think about her sins and try to repent. Having been paroled at the end of January, it seems she is trying to make the most of this new chapter in her life. “Mariaan’s focus is to comply with her parole conditions and not end up in prison again,” says Deirdre.
