Siphokazi Mdlankomo is having even more fun inviting local celebrities to get their hands dirty behind the stove.
“There is so much preparation to do before we actually start cooking in the episode,” explains food-loving chef Siphokazi Mdlankomo. Her lifestyle show Let’s Cook With Siphokazi (2016-current) has seen the self-taught chef slicing and dicing side-by-side with some of Mzansi’s famous faces, “But when it comes to food, they are just normal people,” laughs the 42-year-old from the Eastern Cape. “They are on television or radio or whatever, but food is still food!”
You’re no slouch with the knives, but are you doing all the prep work yourself?
If you’re asking if I chop my own onions, the answer is yes, sweetie. I do have an “assistant” named Alice – she is a food stylist and we work together getting everything ready for the episode.
