Molly (Malin Akerman) had plans to spend a relaxing Thanksgiving at home with her best friend Abby (Kat Dennings). But she has to make more and more room at the table for guests like her new boy toy Jeff (Jack Donnelly) and her mother (Jane Seymour) — who’s invited her ex (Ryan Hansen) to join them.
Contributing to the chaos? Molly’s pals are dealing with dilemmas of their own, from Abby’s loneliness to another partygoer’s holiday trauma triggered by the demands of the day. It doesn’t help when guest Lauren (Aisha Tyler) brings her contribution to the festivities: psychedelic drugs.
Personalities clash and old feelings rise to the surface as the dysfunctional group turns what was meant to be a low-key night into an epic get-together.
