With the contract for her popular daytime talk show set to end in 2020, the comedian had a huge decision to make: She could either pack it in after 16 years and focus on other things — like life at home with wife Portia de Rossi — or sign on the dotted line and commit to three more years as one of TV’s most in-demand hosts. When she announced she was staying on until 2022 in front of her live audience back in May, they cheered.
