The culinary icon chats about catering the Oscars, his creative dishes and his celebrity guests
For the last 25 years, world-renowned chef Wolfgang Puck and his team have proudly been serving up a delicious feast at the famed Oscars Governors Ball. But according to the culinary superstar, it’s a lot harder than it looks! “We have 300 people in the kitchen [and] 900 waiters in the dining room,” says the Austrian-born chef, who recalls once having to whip up 7,000 mini chocolate Oscar statuettes dusted with 24-karat gold. “[No one goes] home hungry!” As he gets ready for this year’s honors and celebrates the 37th anniversary of his flagship restaurant, Spago, Wolfgang sits down with chef Judy Joo to dish on life in and out of the kitchen.
