We are what we think. We are what we eat. How far is that true?

“We are how we eat, move, sleep and think. This is cent percent true. How we live our day defines how our health is going to be in the coming months or weeks. You eat junk, your body will reflect that kind of poor nutrition in terms of acidity, inflammation, gut issues, weight gain, etc. You think toxic thoughts; your body will manifest those into toxic behaviors and poor health. This is exactly what every disease has its connections with – certain emotions of anger, guilt, fear, resentment.”

You are a great proponent of intermittent fasting. How does that really work and is it recommended for everyone?

“Intermittent fasting is a lifestyle diet. Actually, it’s not even a diet, it’s a way of living that has existed ever since life existed on this planet. In earlier times, people ate early because after that there was hardly any light. We didn’t even have electricity at the point, so automatically after dinner, the next meal was eaten the next day, probably mid-afternoon because once again people had to go out hunting for food. So, the body automatically fasted from sunset to sunrise. It was the way of living for humans back then.

“The intermittent fasting structure is natural and simple. For instance, if you decide to start your intermittent fast by 6 pm or 7 pm with an intention to break after 12 hours, then you fast till 6 am or 7 am the next morning, or perhaps go on till 8 am or 9 am till your body allows you to. During the fasting period, you can have plain water and nothing else. No tea, coffee, green tea or lemon water. Just plain water and as much as you want. Try to keep the water as per room temperature. When you break your fast, do it with some lemon water, followed by fruits and dates and, after half an hour, begins your building phase. During your building phase, you eat what your body needs keeping your health goal in mind. Do not overeat or starve. Do not try to dive into the building phase. Respect the elimination as well as the building phase.

“Intermittent fasting is changing lives across the globe. It is resetting health inside out. People have reported noticeable changes in their energy, immunity, hair, skin, weight, thyroid health, sugar levels, cholesterol levels, inflammation, gut health, autoimmune conditions, and even cancer.

“Since it is naturally aligned to nature, it is safe to say that it doesn’t have any side effects provided it is done in an informed way and personalized according to one’s condition. For example, for a kidney patient who is already on restricted water intake, drinking so much water isn’t advisable. So, it’s important to personalize the fasting schedule for them.”
