ALANNA PANDAY
As a fashion management alumnus from the prestigious London College of Fashion, how do you define “style”?
“It’s hard to define style because I think it’s something very personal. Something that’s stylish to me might be considered hideous by another person. For me, style is how we use clothes to portray our personalities.”
How would you describe your personal sense of style?
“Always evolving. I don’t like sticking to one particular ‘style.’ So, one day you’ll see me dressed really girly and the next day, I’m in sneakers and a hoodie. It’s also heavily dependent on my mood.”
You are already an internet celebrity and many youngsters look up to you. Does this tag influence your fashion choices, in any way?
“Yes, definitely! People don’t realise how much pressure social media actually puts on you. I was called out once for wearing the same shoes twice, which I think is absolutely ridiculous!”
A few lines on the designer... And what is it about this Arpita Mehta collection that intrigues you the most?
“We, actually, just met so I haven’t really known her for long. But I love how sweet, grounded and humble she is.
“About the collection that I am wearing, I love how fun and lively it is. My favourites are the tiny details, like the shells, and I’m in love with the colour palette!”
Your cousin, Ananya Panday, recently showcased Arpita’s creations at a renowned fashion week. Do you also aspire to join the movie industry like her?
