Tao, The Chick Nemesis In Batman Vs Superman
Harper's BAZAAR Singapore|April 2016

Model-turned-actress Tao Okamoto has kicked major ass in superhero flicks The Wolverine and upcoming summer blockbuster, Batman v Superman. Charmaine Ho meets the angel-faced star with major acting kapow!

Tao, The Chick Nemesis In Batman Vs Superman

As the studio buzzes with activity prepping for a major cover shoot, Tao Okamoto, one of Asia’s fastest rising stars, makes no demands and politely declines any offers of drinks or snacks. She has only asked for Hainanese chicken rice for lunch, which she remembers fondly from her last visit to Singapore when BAZAAR shot her for its July 2011 cover. Unassuming and ever courteous,Tao displays exemplary Zen behaviour that you could attribute to her Japanese lineage, though I suspect it’s just the way she is. This is the model who rose to fame for her distinctive hairstyle that inspired designer Phillip Lim to put all his models in bowl-cut wigs for his fall/winter 2009 show. Then, there is her ever-growing list of notable films for both the big screen and television she has under her belt—the latest of which is the hotly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where she plays Mercy Graves, the personal assistant and bodyguard to Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor.
