After hitting horticultural heights at Chelsea, the Duchess of Cambridge continued to bloom at a Buckingham Palace garden party hosted by the Queen.
She and her husband the Duke joined Her Majesty at the Cambridges’ first of the seasonal parties, standing alongside the Queen on the terrace for the national anthem before chatting to some of the 8,000 guests.
Kate looked elegant in a pale pink coat dress by Alexander McQueen, matching hat by Juliette Botterill and a pair of Collingwood diamond and pearl drop earrings that once belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales.
She had extra reason to smile as, earlier in the day, the Queen presented her with the insignia of Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order in a private ceremony.
