Hundreds of newcomers enter and exit showbiz almost every single day. For anyone to make their mark in such a situation requires a combination of talent, hard work and luck. Looks like that’s the case with Ritwik Bhowmik, who’s waited for the dice to roll for him quite patiently. Ritwik, who is a typical Bengali, was born in a family of intellectuals. He, however, wanted to travel on a different road. Calling himself the ‘black sheep of the family’, Ritwik says he always wanted to make a name for himself in showbiz. He confided in his mother one day about his aspirations and to his relief, she replied she already had an inkling. What’s more, she encouraged him to follow his dreams. “I was confident about becoming an actor, but the way my family supported me emotionally and financially is something I’ll always be grateful for. It’s only because of them that I am here today,” he gushes.
