Rt. Hon’ble Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, the current Speaker of the Parliament, Ghana, has been a prestigious personality in Ghana’s political, academic and legal circle.

His career has been a small landscape with diverse colors from various fields such as private legal practice, lecturing in political science, doing active politics and pastoral work. Along with being a barrister of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, he is also a senior member of the Ghana Bar. He has worked as a Solicitor for many esteemed companies and reputable financial institutions, consultancies etc. in Ghana.

As an academic intellectual, Rt. Hon’ble Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye achieved the singular distinction of winning within four years, the coveted International Rockefeller Senior Scholar Award (1993) and the Senior Fulbright Scholar Award (1997), which is considered as the highest possible honor in Academia.

Rt. Hon’ble Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye has received appreciation and recognition as a politician, diplomat and a legislator. He has served his country as a High Commissioner of Ghana to India (2002-2004), Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya (2005-2013), The Second Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana (2009-2013), Minister of Communications (2006-07), Minister of Energy (2005-06). He was Vice-President of the African Association of Political Science (AAPS), with headquarters situated in Zimbabwe (1997-1999).
