Application Of Motivation Theory In Enhancing Maturity In College Students

He defines motivation as a process of satisfying the particular needs of an individual, which they require in the long-run development. A human need seems to be a feeling of lasting condition, which involves the use of satisfaction or relief. It influences the action of a person in the long term. Some of the needs like curiosity may not decrease like hunger in the long run. Human needs can be ranked hierarchically. Some demands tend to be the essential requirement of every human being, and nothing else matters in their absence. The high ranked needs of a human being seem to be them psychological, then the safety, love. After love, Maslow has ranked the esteem of an individual and then the self-actualization.

Benefits Of The Motivation Theory

•The motivation theory seems to be very simple to understand. Every people passes through the different stages of the pyramid during their life tenure. The poor always keep the needs limited to the lower rank of the pyramid, which is a shelter, food, and clothing. But the wealthy business class people always give priority to self-esteem and their achieving their objectives.

•It takes into account the general human nature, which tends to be more demanding if the lower level of needs seems to be satisfied. If a human being feels hungry and given two options, one for food and the other for the bike. He will inevitably decline the offer for the bike and accept the food as he tends to be hungry. A normal human being will eat first and then demand a bike.
