FOOTWEAR BRAND BIRKENSTOCK PLANS BIG FOR INDIA

Germany’s largest shoe manufacturer BIRKENSTOCK has just forayed into the Indian market as part of its global expansion strategy. The brand flagged off its operations with an online store last month and this will shortly be followed by its first mono-brand store in Delhi that will feature a comprehensive range of classic sandals for men, women and children and closed shoes. Jens Hattab, Regional Managing Director (Middle East, Africa and India), BIRKENSTOCK, has been carefully laying the ground for the company’s entry into the Indian market with an experienced team. With 20+ years of experience in international footwear and fashion business, he is responsible for business growth and general operations in this region. Excerpts:
