Pioneering workplace interior design and build expert Studiokon Ventures (SKV) presented the Workplace Trends Conclave in India last month in New Delhi. Since the first such event in London in 2002, the pathbreaking idea had been among the first to look at the now-familiar subjects of wellbeing, productivity, creativity, happiness, biomimicry, psychology, biophilia, agile and activity-based working, to name a few. Such conclaves focus on knowledge sharing and connecting professionals who aim to create a productive workplace.
With the focus on discovering the latest trends in offices and discussing the disruptive implications of the changing nature of work, SKV brought the platform to India, wherein global leaders discussed and highlighted trends that are shaping the future of offices.
Tushar Mittal, MD, SKV and India Partner for Workplace Trends, opened the conclave by announcing the focus on people, place, and performance-powered by technology. Nigel Oseland, director, Workplace Unlimited UK, then delivered his talk on ‘Future of Workspaces’. Then, Dr Rubina Mittal, strategy partner, Workplace Trends 2019, introduced honourable minister Mahindra Nath Pandey who deliberated on ‘New India and New Skills’. Pandey said, “Recognising the need to exchange ideas between India and abroad, our government policy decisions and measures are well in sync with changing trends, growing needs and new innovations. Measures such as Skill India, Digital India, Make in India, reformed GST setup, etc, were initiated to ensure India competes shoulder-to-shoulder with the world when it comes to ease of doing business. Today, the world’s best companies are keen on coming to India for business opportunities and since 2014, India has acquired a reputation for being devoted to its work and is making an impact worldwide.”
