India’s July Coal Imports Remain Flat Y-O-Y

India’s coal and coke imports during July 2019 through major and non-major ports are estimated to be down by just 0.32 percent compared to July 2018, according to a compilation by Coal Insights, based on monitoring of vessels’ positions and data received from shipping companies and various sources.

Imports during July 2019 stood at 19.61 mt (million tons) as compared to 19.67 mt imported in July 2018.

Of the total imports during July 2019, non-coking coal were at 12.49 mt, decreased compared to 13.78 mt imported in the same month last year. Coking coal imports were recorded at 4.82 mt in July 2019, up against July 2018 figure of 4.29 mt.
