India's April coal imports down 35% y-o-y

Coal and coke imports in April are seen down 35.12 percent on year, according to vessel data from various sources. Imports fell to 17.09 million tons from 26.34 million tons on year.

India's April coal imports down 35% y-o-y

Of the total imports during April, non-coking coal were at 12.28 mt, against 19.01 mt imported in the same month last year. Coking coal imports were 3.23 mt in April, down from 4.58 mt on year. Metallurgical coke imports during April were at 0.09 mt, against 0.39 mt imported in the same month a year ago. Petroleum coke imports fell to 0.55 mt in April from 1.16 mt.
