Tricks to Help You Beat the Heat This Summer

THE STEAMY SUMMER MONTHS in Central Florida can be quite brutal, but if you get a little creative, you can keep your patios and gardens from being a total loss when it comes time for evening parties and barbeques. We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite ways to keep the backyard primed and ready for summer fun.

1. STONES/PAVERS

The foundation of your patio is absolutely essential in preventing a washout. When designing, think about walking ease, aesthetics, non-slip materials, shape, size, and coloring.

One of the choices you’ll have is concrete. If you choose solid concrete, consider decorating with a stamped pattern and dying it a more natural look. You’ll also need to know that concrete will need to be re-colored every two years and will also show the “heavy trafficked” areas. But concrete is definitely the cheapest option, and it can still look great in your backyard.
