Reviving trends for healthcare economy
While COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the larger economy, the healthcare sector is no exception. With healthcare sector experiencing operating loss to the tune of Rs 14,000 to 24,000 crore for the first quarter with private sector reporting a 90 per cent drop in revenue, it has been a roller-coaster of a ride so far.

How are we going to revive the sector once the virus goes away? The following measures or trends could revive the healthcare economy

It is expected that the health expenditure as a proportion of Gross domestic product (GDP) is likely to go up from 1.29 to 2.5 per cent by 2025. This would give an all-round stimulus to the sector with spill over effects across the entire value chain and the allied segments.
