SYLVIA, A NEW GREEN LETTUCE VARIETY
DID YOU KNOW that the ancient Greeks believed that lettuce induced sleep, so they served it at the end of the meal? It is also known that eating lettuce for dinner can be calming and help reduce stress.

Orly Labajo, 38 years old, is a young, hardworking husband and father. Labajo, with more than 10 years of experience in farming leafy vegetables like lettuce and pai-tsai, is more than proud to say that farming is his family’s best source of livelihood.

Labajo is not afraid to try new things, as he would always tell his wife that there is no progress without change. He fondly visits his farm together with his wife to monitor their crops. As leafy vegetable farming is very prone to insect infestations, he applies Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), that is why he believes that some applications like planting bunching onions beside lettuce plants would help decrease the presence of insects.
