Zed's Definitely Not Dead, Baby

Kawasaki’s ‘z’ models have been with us since 1972 but who could have foreseen the levels to which they would rise in 2020?

Zed's Definitely Not Dead, Baby

I’m sure you all know the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears; how a little girl stole into the bears’ house and tried their porridge and their beds until she found the ones that suited her best. Some of the porridge was too hot, some too cold, one bowl just right. Likewise with the beds; one too hard, one too soft and one just right.

Right now, you’ve either turned the page, wondering just what the hell I’m on about or you have resigned to carry on reading, still wondering just what the hell I’m on about but hoping that I’ll get to the point soon.

All right; let me try and spell it out for you.

Here, we have a trio of Kawasakis, naked Kawasakis. If you really want me to carry on with the analogy there’s daddy bear Z H2, mummy bear Z900 and baby bear Z650 (right, that’s enough of the Three Bears. Ed) Their different capacities aside, the way they go about their jobs is so completely different - which you would expect - but it is fascinating to experience the completely different characters of the bikes.

Not only are they different to each other, but they are also different to similar models from rival manufacturers. Again, that is what you might expect but it still intrigues me as to how what is outwardly in the same class can have a personality so different.

Bowl One (I said that’s enough with the Three Bears. Ed); The Z H2
