SUZUKI KATANA LONG-TERM TEST
IT’S A FUNNY OLD WORLD, ISN’T IT? LAST YEAR I HAD ONE OF SUZUKI’S NEW KATANAS TO PLAY WITH FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, AND WHILE I DID ENJOY RIDING IT (IT’S A STATE-OF-THE-ART NEW BIKE FROM ONE OF THE BIG FOUR JAPANESE MANUFACTURERS AFTER ALL), IT WASN’T QUITE RIGHT…

Then, earlier this year, I got a call from Suzuki asking if I’d like one to play with for 2020? They’d been pleased with the review in the mag’, as it’d been complimentary, but honest, and they knew, having been to Motorcycle Live! at the NEC in November, that I had a Katana, an old one obviously, myself, and so was a little biased in favour of the model.

I asked if we could do anything with it, and they replied, somewhat nervously, in the affirmative as long as what we did could be returned to standard quite easily. That’s kind o’ what I expected, and it does make sense because… well, think about it, how many people who’ve laid out the best part of 11.5k large are going to take the gas axe to their brand new bike?
