With its gold-spired temples, spirit houses, gilded palaces and vibrant street food culture, Bangkok is steeped in tradition.
On the other hand, the metropolis – long a cradle for new ideas and a magnet for the country’s sharpest minds – is hurtling towards the future as a hub for different ideas.
This frisson between old and new was very much to the fore during “Fusing Forward”: the second instalment of Bangkok Design Week, which took place at the end of January.
