“How Can I Be Substantial If I Do Not Cast A Shadow? I Musthave A Dark Side Also If I Am To Be Whole.” C.G. Jung
‘There are no mistakes, only happy accidents,’ television painter Bob Ross used to say. This carefree phrase rings true for Mélanie Delon, a prolific digital illustrator who isn’t afraid to explore her dark side through fantastical worlds, fairytale beings and shadowy stories. “I never thought or dreamed of being an illustrator, I wanted to create video games, and during my 3D studies I discovered Photoshop and what I could do with this software.” After posting her work on several online galleries, she received an email from a publishing house asking her to do her own art book. The rest, as they say, is history.
