The plot of 3000 sq ft is located amidst a bungalow society with similar plot sizes. The urban fabric of the area is such that all 10-12 m high residences are surrounding the plot so it was important to create our own views. The only savior was some beautiful native trees around the site.
The family is fairly large - parents with two sons with their wives and two children of each couple. The requirement was of 3 master beds and 2 children’s bed along with living, family, dining, kitchen, home theater, and other service areas as well as parking for at least three cars and two-wheelers. It was quite a task to fulfill all these requirements considering the by-laws where considerable area goes in the setback and height limitation restricts the vertical planning.
To achieve all the public spaces on the ground and also provide required parking, the house was designed on different levels. Amongst all the common areas on the ground floor, the family room is designed at 1.5 m above rest of the areas, which allowed the parking to be tucked below it. The living room is designed with double height creating a visual interaction with the family room.

AR CHRISTOPHER BENNINGER CREATES RS 700 CR SASSOON HOSPITAL PLAN | PUNE
Veteran architect Christopher Benninger has created an ambitious Rs 700 Cr plan for the redevelopment of Sassoon Hospital, Pune out of which Rs 100 Cr has already been sanctioned by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar for the initial phase. According to the hospital authorities, the Master Plan is created to develop the hospital for the next hundred years. The plan was submitted to the state and the phase-wise development will commence with the construction of hostels for postgraduate doctors and nurses.
