The Power Of Quiet
Evoking calm and contemplation, this home in Goa by Grounded is sumptuous in its simplicity
Seema Sreedharan

“SIMPLICITY is the ultimate sophistication. It takes a lot of hard work to be simple.” — Steve Jobs.

Nothing illustrates this better than this family home in Goa designed by Anjali Mangalgiri of Grounded. Located on a busy residential street, this home, with its low-pitched tiled roof, mimics the simplicity of the other homes around it and blends in seamlessly. The idea was to match the aesthetic of the traditionally designed neighboring homes. So when you drive down the main road, the home does not stick out like a sore thumb, it is contextual to its surroundings. It’s only when you enter that you realize that this home is a lot more layered than you expect it to be.
