Out of a total of 291 innovations entered in this year’s DLG/ Agritechnica Innovations competition, the jury awarded 39 silver medals, but only a single gold.
The top award went to the John Deere eAutoPowr transmission and intelligent e8WD system for the 8R Series large tractors, developed in partnership with Joskin. The company also won three silver medals for its innovations.
In a statement, the Agritechnica Innovations jury said that stepless transmissions with a hydrostatic mechanical power split had been used in agricultural tractors for over 20 years. However, up until now, additional generators for electric drives with a higher power requirement had been installed on tractors or implements.
