Crushing Defeat

For several years I have colour-ringed the birds around our lodge at Kube Yini Private Game Reserve in Zululand to monitor their movements in the area.

During December 2019 and at the beginning of 2020 it was extremely hot in the area, with temperatures approaching 40°C each day and no relief in the form of any rain or cooler days.
