INDIGENISATION IN THE INDIAN NAVY

With its extensive maritime interests, the Indian Navy requires cutting-edge equipment and technology to ensure the security of the nation's waters. The Indian Navy plays a pivotal role in protecting the economic corridors essential for India's economic growth, ensuring the security and effective operation of crucial maritime trade routes and strategic waterways. To achieve self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers, the Indian government has been encouraging indigenisation in Defence manufacturing. L&T has embraced this vision and has become a torchbearer in the indigenisation journey, especially in the naval sector.

In Naval Platform and Systems L&T's offerings include warships, Submarines, Air Independent Propulsion, Weapon Launch Systems, and Engineering Naval Systems. In the unmanned systems domain, we can provide autonomous kits to make small ships or boats unmanned and AUVS ranging in depth of operation from 300m to 6000m.

Over the decades, L&T has consistently committed investments in numerous facilities such as Hazira (near Surat), Talegaon (near Pune), Coimbatore, and Kattupalli Chennai) to meet demands of (near the increasing 'Atmanirbharta'. Additionally, significant efforts have been directed towards nurturing human talent to ensure the ongoing and consistent pursuit of research and development initiatives. The distinctive features of this pursuit include digitalization, globalization, and customization, which the collectively empower delivery of transformative Defence solutions, providing a decisive advantage.
