Crews buoyed by 'warm welcome' for regatta

A ROYAL Navy warship and a historic tall ship will be attending and participating in the 38th Falmouth Classics Regatta this summer.
HMS Express, one of 16 Archer-class fast patrol boats and assigned to the Devonport-based Coastal Forces Squadron, will be in the port over the weekend of June 13 to 15 and will lead the parade of sail and power on Sunday morning.
The 150ft Morgenster (Morning Star) will be moored in the inner harbour during the event.
Steel-hulled, she was built in 1919 as a sailing herring lugger but converted to engine power in 1927.
Christened De Vrouw Maria, she changed her name in 1959 and was sold out of the fishing industry in 1970.
