The Higher Secondary examinations will begin from 14 March and will conclude on 27 May. Announcing the various figures and dates for the exams, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education president Dr Chiranjib Bhattacharya said that the council is fully prepared to hold the exams and the system is in place.
This year, the number of examinees is approximately 8.52 lakh, which was 7.45 lakh last year, a jump of 1.07 lakh. Out of 8.52 lakh, boys are 42.57 per cent and girls 57.43 per cent. Girls outnumber boys, exceeding by 1,27,000.
