Amidst dengue spurt, doctors, officials told to stay on station

STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE KOLKATA, 28 SEPTEMBER

Rattled by the alarming surge in number of dengue cases, just days ahead of Durga Puja festivities, the government has directed doctors, nurses, medical and non-medical officials and support staff not to leave their respective stations of work in the city and districts without prior clearance of the concerned authorities. Dr Siddhartha Neogy, acting director of health services (DHS), has issued an order in this regard on Wednesday.
