BJP should clarify its stand on women’s reservation before 2027 UP polls: Akhilesh

Targeting the BJP on the issue of women's reservation, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said that the PDA (Pichhara, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) wants the legislation passed in Parliament to be implemented in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
The Samajwadi Party (SP) said that since the legislation was passed with the support of the entire Opposition, the BJP should now clarify its stand on it.
He alleged that if the government does not make an announcement on this issue, it should clarify whether the BJP and its allies are opposed to providing reservations for women.
