Indian-born US citizen donates Rs 1 lakh to heritage library in the memory of his parents

Dr. Debendra Kumar Das, an Indian-born US citizen, donated Rs 1 lakh to the 128-year-old Diamond Jubilee Public Library at Kendrapara on Saturday in the memory of his parents.
Das established "Banchhanidhi Das and Srimati Devi Charitable Trust" in the memory of his parents ten years back to donate money for the development of education and for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden people and other good works in Kendrapara district.
77-year-old Dr. Das is working as the Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Emeritus & Past Chairperson, ME Department at the University of Alaska.
A cheque of Rs one lakh was presented to the secretary of the library Baidyanath Chatterjee by his niece Mamata Das and nephew Bhuban Mohan Das on behalf of Dr. Das in a simple function in the library on Saturday.
