|The New Indian Express Kannur
SIX years after launching its first store in Hyderabad, Swedish furniture giant IKEA has entered the north Indian markets by introducing online delivery services across Delhi-NCR and nine satellite cities, including Agra, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, and Varanasi.
Starting March 1, customers in these regions will have access to IKEA's extensive range of over 7,000 products.
"As we continue to strengthen our omni-channel growth in the country, this launch in Delhi-NCR and other markets will be a strong foundation for our future growth in the region," said Susanne Pulverer, CEO & chief sustainability officer, IKEA India. Ingka Centres, part of Ingka Group that operates IKEA retail, is investing about 1 billion Euro to establish two new centres under 'Lykli' brand in Gurugram and Noida. The Gurugram centre is set to open in 2026, followed by Noida in the subsequent years.

The Alpha School Project: A Daring Innovation
The Alpha Schools enterprise is a highly innovative experiment in school education in the US that commenced in 2014 based essentially on the use of AI. It is a bold departure from the traditional. Its essential features focus on personalised learning, efficiency, and holistic development. Founded in Austin, Texas, the Alpha School challenges the conventional modelwhere students endure lengthy lectures across fragmented subjects-by reallocating time to AI-powered learning and essential life skills. This for-profit private institution is crafting footprints in other cities. It also plans potential charter school integrations for broader access. It has at the same time sparked a debate: Is it a transformative force or a fleeting experiment?
