Valencia centre-back Cesar Tarrega is high on the Magpies’ shortlist as they seek to find a long-term partner for Sven Botman.
At the age of 23, the Spaniard ticks certainly ticks that particular box, but Newcastle know a deal will be tricky to pull off.
Tarrega is seen as an important figure for the La Liga side, is under contact until 2028, and is about to watch his defensive costar Cristhian Mosquera head to Arsenal. Valencia, as such, do not want to lose him.
