SEVEN DAYS TO REMEMBER FOR CHRIS AND NICK
OLIVIER VERGNAULT
We won the lottery and tied the knot in same week

A CORNISH couple certainly had one of their best weeks ever after winning £1 million on the lottery and tying the knot to celebrate. Housewife Christine Buckton and now husband Nick had an unforgettable week, winning The National Lottery then getting married seven days later. The couple from Launceston matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto draw on October 15, to scoop the life-changing prize. The couple, who have been together for two years, said their win was an “unplanned wedding gift from work”.

Christine, 50, said: “We hadn’t played the National Lottery in a fair few months before our win, but for some reason one of Nick’s work colleagues told him that we should buy a Lotto ticket that weekend. We got ourselves a Lucky Dip and here we are with a £1 million win – a very generous wedding gift of sorts.”
