PLYMOUTH'S All Saints Academy was £622,967 in the red and more than 300 pupils short of its capacity when it joined a leading schools trust, newly released documents reveal.
Bosses at The Ted Wragg Multi Academy Trust are now working with Plymouth's only Church of England secondary school, where more than a third of pupils receive free school meals, in a bid to turn around its fortunes.
A new head, Scott Simpson-Horne, was appointed in January 2022, a year after the Honicknowle school joined Marine Primary and Marine Secondary by becoming part of the Ted Wragg MAT. This year, Lipson Co-operative Academy became the fourth school to transfer to the trust.
